Internet can be used in many good ways, but if you stay too much time on your phone, it can have some negative consequences. It can affect the amount of time you sleep, your grades in school, and also the interactions you have with people.  The first negative effect of internet addiction is lack of sleep. Almost 55% of teenagers use their phones one hour before they go to bed, and some use it also for three hours. Many teenagers fall asleep while using their phones, and many of them sleep with their phones near them. According to Bhat, using the phone during nighttime may affect your health and mood.   The Effects Of Internet Addiction Have you ever opened your social media for a quick check, looked up and seen that 1 hour has passed without noticing? Did you know that 50% of the kids admit they are addicted to their smartphones, 59% of the parents are aware of their kids addiction and 27% of the parents themselves are addicted? Internet addiction can be defined as compulsive use that interferes with the natural flow of one's daily life, relationships, or work (Joyce).
